Family Fun @ The Wagner Ranch Nature Area!

Come and see what the Friends of Wagner Ranch has in store for you for its 10th Annual Orinda Olive Festival. Clear your schedule on October 6, 2019, from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. for family-friendly activities. Enjoy arts, crafts, live music, pond & garden activities, and more.

Enjoy the beautiful historic ranch and 18-acre nature preserve, open twice a year to the public. Learn about (and taste) a variety of olive oils from local producers including: award winning Grumpy Goats Farm (extra Virgin olive Oil); Amphora Nueva (East Bay favorite with olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars); McEvoy Ranch certified organic olive oil (featured in National Geographic 2018 & Sunset Magazine 2018); and Olive Drop (Lodi, CA). Also featuring olive oils from Bandolio and Seka Hills.

Plus, join a rare historic/nature tour of the meadows, woodland, ponds and streams, and the 135-year-old olive grove. Enjoy games (including the infamous “Olive Pit Spit Contest” for all ages), DIY arts and crafts, local beekeeper’s honey and wax, explore for turtles & tadpoles in the pond, and toddlers are invited to a treasure hunt in the garden.

Food and beverages are available from Food Trucks on-site, or bring your own picnic to enjoy at the many picnic tables. Ukulele concert for your enjoyment in the historic Olive Grove. Student music recitals presented by ALMA are ongoing near the garden.

You can also visit the silent auction & raffle table, which supports Outdoor Environmental Science and Social Studies programs.

The weather can be very warm in October. We recommend bringing sunglasses, hats, and refillable water bottles. Comfortable shoes will provide stability on uneven/gravel surfaces. We regret that pets are not allowed in the Nature area.
